Literacy, Education, and the Arts

Literacy and education are used here as broad terms that include knowledge and skill acquisition and sharing, as well as understanding and being able to effectively use communication tools, such as language, images, gestures, or media and technology. Learning, teaching, and the development of literacies takes place in formal and informal learning contexts and happens individually and in groups.

These individuals, groups, and organizations focus on literacy and education broadly defined. They seek to raise awareness and educate others about a variety of causes and concerns and cover topics like learning and teaching, critical thinking, media literacy, new media literacies, reading and writing, pedagogy, connected learning, arts education, curriculum, student development, out of school time learning, classroom participation, and resources for educators.
