By Any Media Necessary: Mapping Youth and Participatory Politics

Citizenship

Citizenship refers to recognized membership in a society or group, or the civic participation or character of a person who is considered a citizen of a community. Citizenship is frequently contested on the level of the rights and duties of citizens, as well as the parameters with which people are included or denied membership.

These individuals, groups and organizations focus on issues of citizenship, including the right to national citizenship and the enactment of "good" citizenship via civic virtue and ideals. They cover topics such as immigration, national and transnational identities, community participation and service, volunteerism, voting, military service, immigration reform, immigration law and policy, and citizen’s rights.
