Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project

About

As part of the United We Dream network, Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project (QUIP) is a project that seeks to organize and empower LGBTQ undocumented people and their allies through grassroots organizing, leadership development, advocacy, and engaging in alliance building with both LGBTQ and immigrant rights movements.

In association with the Undocumented Queer Youth Collective and activist and Alex Aldana, QUIP also helped launch the "I Am UndocuQueer" project, which includes animated portraits of people identifying as UndocuQueer with personalized quotes (see media below). UndocuQueer has also spread as an identifying and activist hashtag and continues to play a role in the larger movement of bridging the gap between the undocumented and LGBTQ rights movements.

An Arizona chapter of QUIP has a particularly active social media presence with their own facebook page, twitter handle, instagram account (AZQUIP), tumblr, and separate governing body.
